Child Safety Seat Awareness Week Welcomed By AMT

PEORIA--It's national child seat safety awareness week and experts say keeping your child safe while driving is very important.
Child car seats come in a variety of colors, models, brands, bells and whistles. With so many different types it's easy to get confused on the proper way to install it because they all hook up differently.
Experts say most mistakes made during the installation process are very minor. They also said a minor mistake could also cause harm to your child if in an accident. Experts at Advanced Medical Transport say common mistakes include over/under tightening of childs restraints, using the seatbelt to connect seat in combination with latching to car seat hooks and not checking weight and height requirements on child seat.
