PEORIA - A local school is Taking Action in the fight against hunger in central Illinois.
As part of homecoming week, students at Peoria Christian High School have been collecting donations for South Side Mission. The goal was to stuff a bus full of non-perishable food.
Students are also encouraging people going to Friday night's soccer game to bring donations. They say it feels great to give to people in need.
"We do have poverty in Peoria, it's inevitable," said PCHS senior Jill Sidler. "It's just really awesome to take this opportunity to help be Christ to our community."
If you want to help, bring your donation to Friday's soccer game against Bloomington's Central Catholic High School. It starts at 6:30 p.m.
