Peoria Will Vote on Southtown TIF Allocations

PEORIA- After months of debating where to spends its Southtown TIF dollars, the city of Peoria is one step closer to handing the money out.
Tuesday, Peoria city council will vote on the following proposals:
Nearly $1.5 million is recommended to renovate and reopen George Washington Carver Center in Peoria. The Peoria Citizens Committee for Economic Opportunity could get $872,133 to support food banks and new housing.
The Peoria Park District could receive $300,000 to purchase and install a water slide at Gwynn Aquatic Facility. Crittenton Centers could receive $285,567 to prepare for a building expansion, and Ward Chapel would get $139,377, if the city approves.
