Illinois' unemployment rate moved slightly higher in August according to statistics released Thursday by the state. The rate now stands at 9.1 percent as more people apparently were back looking for work. 9600 jobs were added in August but state officials admit economic uncertainty is threatening a recovery. 700 manufacturing jobs were added while 1500 construction jobs were lost and the biggest gain was in the educational and health services sector in which 5300 jobs were added.
