PEORIA- American Airlines is now in the next stage of it's bankruptcy, but that won't affect flights out of Peoria International Airport.
Travelers can still book flights out of PIA as usual because the airport has regional carriers like American Eagle, not American Airlines planes.
The airport says if people are worried about delays or have an especially important flight, they can treat it the same way they would when there's severe weather.
"The same advice would apply as if there were thunderstorms or snowstorms going on the passangers would probably want to contact the airline, make sure their flight and schedule are still in tact," said Gene Olson, who works for PIA.
The airport says it doesn't thnk American Airlines will reduce flights from Peoria, even in the long-term.
