PEORIA -- The Better Business Bureau is seeing a stready scam across central Illinois.
It says it's received calls about businesses offering to pave driveways for a cheap cost.
The Vice-President Jessica Tharp said workers are going door to door, getting money and running with it.
Most recently, R and R Construction out of Decatur has been accused of these bad practices.
She said it's ofter hard to track these people down because they usually flee to another state.
Now she's urging consumers to be cautious. "What we find is consumers will fork over the cash and never see the company again. The work is shotty, there's no warranty or guarentee and after the product itself will cause the driveway to crumble and fall apart, so we really need to make sure consumers know who they're doing business with."
Tharp suggests people call the BBB if you've experienced anything like this, so they can get more information.
