EAST PEORIA - An accident, involving an East Peoria school bus, was quite the scare for some parents Tuesday afternoon.
It happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Euclid Ave. and Pine St. in East Peoria. Nearly 20 students from Woodrow Wilson Elementary and Glendale Elementary schools were on their way home from school. That's when, police said, a car ran into the bottom of the school bus.
No one was hurt and all of the kids returned to their parents. William Salsman, one of the student's father, said he's thankful that nothing serious happened.
"I noticed the bus was running late, so I looked down the street and I saw it. So I came down here to make sure everybody was okay. Very relieved it is okay," he said.
Authorities are trying to figure out why the driver ran into the bus.
