PEORIA--Most people welcome the sights of butterflies but this year you may notice fewer of them.
Monarch butterflies usually are seen most at the end of summer. This is the time of year when they begin to migrate from the midwest to the warmer temperatures of Mexico.
Since this years drought was so severe naturalists say the population has decreased but they say you shouldn't be alarmed.
Naturalist say it takes consecutive years of dry conditions to really have a serious affect on butterflies.
