Pontiac and Bloomington Receive Lt. Gov. Awards

Two communities in our viewing area received the 2012 Lt. Governor's Awards for Excellence in Downtown Revitalization. Pontiac P R O U D received an award for its 2012 Premier Partnership Campaign while Downtown Bloomington received an award for its Double Value Program. It revamped the Farmers Market to help provide greater access to fresh, local foods. In partnership with the local school district, the market started a second year of its Healthy Start Market at a local elementary school, where children and their families learned about the market users.
