CREVE COEUR -- Visitors embraced the rich history of Creve Coeur this weekend at the biannual gathering.
The event brought out more than 1,000 people.
People got a bite of buffalo burger and talked with experts about the past.
The gathering included a flea market, with sellers making arrowheads and jewelry.
Volunteer Donna Hanse said she thinks it's important for people to learn the history of the area. "Our goal here is for people to recognize LaSalle because he was a very important explorer and you don't hear too much about him...you know it's an important part of history that needs to be known."
The gathering also included live gospel and bluegrass music.
The event will be held again in the spring.
