PEORIA- Since 2008, Paws Giving Independence has been helping rescue dogs get a new chance at life as service dogs.
But it can create a financial toll.
The organization held their third annual paws for a cause dog show.
Central Illinois dog owners got to show off their canine friends...
It also included free wine tasting, a silent auction, and pet and non pet related venders.
All the money that is raised today will go help with the cost of the dogs, the vet bills, training, and equipment.
Paws Giving Independence co-founder Michelle Kosner says, "That's how we came up with our motto 'Saving a Life to Change a Life." We really do rescue these dogs -s ave their life - and then they're able to change the life of somebody else."
Paws Giving Independence has rescued and trained fifty dogs since 2008.
They hope to raise eight thousand dollars at today's event.
