PEORIA -- A central Illinois couple is up for the chance of a lifetime and $10,000 to help their small business.
Brian and Jamie Knoll are finalists for Martha Stewart's "American Makers" contest.
The couple operates "Java and Company" out of their home in Henry.
It started with making bottles of homemade syrups, and has grown to candles, breakfast bars and body soap.
Jamie Knoll said the exposure from the Martha Stewart contest will help them take their business to the next level. "What it could mean, aside from the $10,000 that would help us maybe do nutrition labeling and refine our labels a little bit. In a small business, every dollar counts so that would be huge. The PR exposure, being recognized by Martha Stewart, it's priceless."
The Knolls create products for every budget. Prices range from $2 and up.
