Peoria Receives 94 Years for Murder

By: Bob Larson
Updated: September 14, 2012

A Peoria man, convicted of the city's second homicide of last year, was handed a virtual life sentence Friday. 29 year old Darrin Hardimon received 94 years in prison for the shooting death of Jerrell Hartwell and for being a felon with a gun. Hartwell was gunned down early last February outside the Club Apollo. Authorities say he had been shot multiple times. Court records indicate Hardimon had just completed probation on a two year old weapons case when he was arrested for this murder.
