PEORIA- The biggest football rivalry in the Midwest took place Thursday night.
The Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers squared off in Green Bay. Fans across central Illinois rooted for their favorite teams.
The Bull Pen in Peoria was a packed house with standing room only. The game kicked off at 7 p.m., but the manager said people started showing up two hours before in their jerseys.
Fans on both sides believe its a must win, even though its early in the season.
"We've gotta win to stay in the division hunt and also to beat the Bears," said Packers fan Joe Hancock.
"We're on Lambeau Field, going there and just womp them on their home field. Man, it would be nice payback for a couple of years ago," said Bears fan, Johnnie Schwindenhammer.
Since 2001, the Green Bay leads the head-to-head match-up 15-8.
