Peoria Mother Found Dead in Field Shot To Death

PEORIA- The Peoria County coroner says the Peoria mother found dead in a corn field Tuesday was shot to death.
An autopsy shows 24-year-old Tashyra McDowell died from multiple gunshot wounds. McDowell was reported missing Monday, she was last seen by her family on Friday.
McDowell's autistic son was found alone early Monday morning, but couldn't tell police what happened to his mother.
A farmer found McDowell's body yesterday in a rural Peoria County field. Peoria County detectives are investigating the death as a homicide.
