PEORIA- Outside of Methodist College, dozens of Peorians honored the brave people who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
The Fallen Heroes Traveling Memorial Wall shows the faces of more than 200 Illinois soldiers who lost their lives since 2001. Volunteers say there's many more heroes than those on the wall, and they deserve to be honored everyday.
"I mean the heroes are out there. The ones going day to day, doing the jobs they got to do. And you know the people that lost their lives on 9/11, the workers and the people trying to save them and stuff like that, these guys are doing the same things today to allow us to be here," said organizer Gary Schrock.
The wall was created by Illinois Patriot Guard Riders and families of fallen soldiers. Tuesday marks the eleventh anniversary of the 9/11 attacks which killed nearly 3,000 people in New York including former Peorian, Chip Chan.
