B N Home Sales Up 23 Percent

Home sales in Bloomington Normal were up 23 percent in August compared to a year ago, according to our news partner WJBC Radio. The Bloomington Normal Association of Realtors released August sales on Monday. The BNAR said 1664 homes have been sold so far this year, compared to 1349 this time last year. Home sales have improved every month this year except in July. 260 homes sold in August, including 238 resale homes and 22 new construction properties. The average price of homes sold was $172,193. The average price of new properties was $300,376, which was actually down 3.8 percent compared to last year.
