MORTON- Dogs went flying through the air in Morton Sunday as part of a competition called "Pumpkin Splash."
It's a regional Dock Diving Dogs contest where dogs run and jump off docks in the 'Big Air' event to see how far they can make it into the water. The world record is 31 feet.
Some dogs were trying their best to beat that, others are just having fun.
Chris Kenney was there with his pal Prince. He said while they are pretty competitive, that's not what it's all about.
"For me it's just a personal pleasure of developing that relationship with the dog and coming out here and entertaining people. That's what I really like is kids love this and it's a lot of fun. It's just really really fun," Kenney said.
The group Chicago-land Dock Dogs hosts the event. Dogs are also tested in how high they can jump and how quickly they can retrieve a toy.
