PEORIA- A federal prison inmate, indicted for allegedly trying to
conceal some property sought in a forfeiture proceeding, entered a
guilty plea in Peoria federal court Thursday. 40 year old Jerrod Zilch
pleaded guilty to destruction or removal of property, according to court
officials. Thursday's court hearing comes one day after Zilch's father,
72 year old Joseph Zilch of Creve Coeur pleaded guilty to count two of
an indictment. Both Zilch and his son Jerrod were indicted last April.
Jerrod is serving a prison term on a drug conviction. As part of Jerrod
Zilch's sentence in the drug case, he was ordered to forfeit a 1961
Corvette. However, the government claims Zilch had the car moved without
telling government officials. Joseph Zilch and Jerrod will be sentenced
December 17th.
