The Central Illinois Angels have invested in another regional technology startup business, according to a release from Heartland Partnership. CIA recently closed on a $325,000 investment in Intellihot Green Technologies. The investment by CIA, which is part of larger investment syndication for the company, will go towards product development and sales of their innovative hybrid water heater. Intellihot became a tenant at the Peoria NEXT Innovation Center in March 2009, then in April 2011 the company began its production/manufacturing operations in Galesburg. Intellihot still maintains an administrative office at the Peoria NEXT Innovation Center. CIA has invested over $3 million in 11 different companies since its inception.
