NORMAL--A big talent search is taking flight at Illinois State University.
The school is looking for a new Reggie Redbird to fill its empty nest.
The beloved mascot appears at dozens of campus events, but staff members say he tends to fly the coop every four years.
Now they're searching for new, animated birds to make ISU school spirit soar.
Reggie often flies to Redbird Arena where his colorful personality pumps up the crowd at sporting events.
"We want the fans that come to the game to be really into the game, to have a good experience and put on a good show," said Team Reggie Supervisor Zachary Schroeder. "Reggie helps us do that."
A new redbird is expected to be crowned "Reggie" by the end of this week.
Feel free to tell him "Hi" at the next ISU home game.
