PEORIA - Problems with Glasford's water system are causing issues for the local school district.
On its website, the Illini Bluffs school district announced all classes and school activities are cancelled Thursday. The Glasford water department will shut the water off for the entire village Thursday to fix a problem with the local water supply.
Residents have complained about a brown discoloration in their water for about two weeks. The village water director says an iron backlog in the water system is the problem. There is a possiblity that school will be canceled Friday if the work is not completed.
Glasford was placed on a boil order last week.
