NORMAL- Mitsubishi Motors reported August sales are down 46.8 percent
compared to a year ago, according to a news release Tuesday. The company
blames the lower sales to a switch over at its Normal plant from three
models to one model. The Mitsubishi plant stopped production on the
three models earlier this year and as of July only produces the
Outlander Sport, according to radio partner WJBC Radio. Outlander Sport
continues to be Mitsubishi's top seller in the U S. Outlander Sport
sales in August are down 13 percent compared to a year ago.
