PEORIA -- People across the county are joining together in hopes of changing the way birth is handled in America.
It's the National Rally for Change.
Peoria Activist Lori Cook said the goal is to empower women and encourage them to question their options when it comes to prengancy and birth.
Cook said more than 30 percent of pregnancies result in a C-section. She said that number is too high.
Cook said today's goal is to make women aware of their rights. "Some of our signs say, empower yourself to make informed decisions, informed consent, question your induction, birth matters. Things like that, so just kind of putting that idea in somebody's head well maybe I should have questioned my induction or my induction or maybe next time I will."
Peoria's rally is one of more than 100 others across the nation.
