PONTIAC- Livingston County wants to know who's behind multiple building issues with its new justice center.
Thursday, Livingston County board held a special board meeting to address numerous ADA violations and noise issues with the Livingston County Law and Justice Center.
The center was completed in 2011. The violations were recently uncovered, but some county board members think the committee in charge of the center should be held responsible. At Thursday's meeting, the board discussed whether the committee should be disbanded.
Some board members allege the committee knew the center risked ADA violations, and did not alert the board before it approved construction.
"All this stuff, I thought was done the right way. Now there's just an appearance that some of it may not of been," said board member John Steichen.
"If this committee is not working as it should as a whole and working together, then there's absolutely no reason for it to exist," said board member Joe Steichen.
Bill Flott, the committee chair, says he did not know the building did not meet ADA requirements. The board says it wrote a letter to the state's attorney general office and its waiting for the state to recommend how to move forward.
