Pekin Teen Charged with Child Beating

A Pekin teenager was formally charged Thursday with beating a small child. 19 year old Austin Lovel is facing one count of aggravated battery to a child with permanent disability. Police say Lovel is accused of severely beating an 18 month old while the mother was at work. Police say the child's skull was fractured and she suffered brain bleeding and abdominal trauma. Bond was set at 300 thousand dollars.
