WMBD/WYZZ-TV STAFF - PEORIA, IL- Richwoods star Brenna Detra almost missed her senior year season of volleyball because of an injury.  Now she has come back stronger.

Brenna Detra's sport of choice is track and field, but basketball and volleyball are a close second.

"I've been three sports for 10 years," says Brenna Detra, Richwoods Senior.  "Even since middle school and preschool.  I've just been in sports."

After last track season, a stress fracture shut her down...her first injury almost forced her to give up volleyball and possibly hoops too.

"The way the season ended was definitly heart breaking.  As soon as the season was over, I went to the doctor and confirmed I had a stress fracture in my shin," said Detra.

After spending the summer rehabbing, and coaching at the Curley Boo Johnson Camp...Detra says she has the green light to get back on the court.

"I am able to play sports.  Told me I could play anything I want and put any exercise on it.  It grew back stronger," said Detra.

She's headed to Wisconsin on a Track schloarship....Now the only stress she deals with...is the stress she takes away.

"I knew I wanted to take stress off my mom.  A full ride would do all of us good.  I just wanted to commit and get it out of the way.  Now I can focus on my senior year and not worry about college and stuff," said Detra.
