Bloomington police say a semi-truck hit and killed a sleeping homeless man overnight.
The McLean County Coroner says 45 year old victim Robert Allen Crum was lying near a guardrail behind a gas station in the 1900 block of West Market Street.
Police aren't sure what time the truck hit him.
But another homeless man found the body around 1:30 this morning.
Police say it's possible the truck didn't stop because the driver didn't see Crum or feel the impact.
Meantime, we spoke with homeless friends of Crum.
They say losing him is like losing a brother.
"He is someone that you could relate to," said Bill Webb. "Somebody that you could talk to, because during the day I mean, we don't have anyone but ourselves."
Preliminary autopsy results indicate Crum died from multiple injuries to the chest abdomen and pelvis due to being hit by the truck.
Toxicology tests have been ordered.
