MORTON - Food is also taking center stage in downtown Morton today.
The city is hosting the second annual BBQ Throwdown.
Twenty vendors are firing up their grills in hopes of being top dog.
And here's how the competition works...
Visitors and judges sample BBQ from each vendor... Then write down which one they like the most.
The winner gets a trophy and bragging rights.
Many vendors used to compete in Peoria's Ribfest, which got cancelled... So now they're happy for a place to show off their best dishes.
Organizer Susan Pyles says, "A lot of the gentlemen used to do the Ribfest in Peoria, and they don't have that anymore. They really love to cook ribs and bar-be-que ....they wanted a place they could do that."
The Throwdown goes until ten.
It benefits the Illinois cancer-care foundation.
