Two Peoria men, arrested in New Mexico last month in
connection with an East Peoria homicide, waived extradition Wednesday in
New Mexico and will be brought back to Pekin to face murder charges. 22
year old James Johnson and 20 year old Carlton Neely are accused of
killing Justin Siebenthal of East Peoria and the wounding of a second
man. Johnson and Neely were arrested at a truck stop outside of
Tucumcari, New Mexico in late June. Tazewell County State's Attorney Stu
Umholtz told WMBD 31 News he estimates the men could be brought back
here for prosecution within a few weeks.
