NORMAL--Central Illinois Small Animal Rescue is hosting its very own thrift store.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from items purchased help the shelter care for nearly 300 animals locally.
The organization opened the shop in Normal last August.
It sells gently used clothing, toys and furniture.
Money that's made is used towards food medical care and toys for animals in the rescue shelter until they're adopted.
"Caring for the animals is always more than anyone can possibly handle, but we do our very best and with the help of the community, we can do bigger and better things," said Shelter member Linda Flotkoetter.
About three adoptions take place at the shelter daily, but members say there are dozens of animals in need of loving homes.
