East Peoria Murder Suspects Appear in New Mexico Court

Two Peoria men, arrested in New Mexico over the weekend in connection with an East Peoria homicide, made their first court appearance Monday. 22 year old James Johnson and 20 year old Carlton Neely are accused of killing Justin Siebenthal of East Peoria and the wounding of a second man, both shot June 13th. Johnson and Neely were arrested at a truck stop outside of Tucumcari over the weekend acting on a tip. Court officials told WMBD 31 News both men are being held on a three million dollar murder warrant out of Tazewell County and were both charged Monday with being fugitives from justice in New Mexico. Both suspects will appear for a preliminary hearing and extradition hearing July 11th.
