EAST PEORIA- A community mourned the loss of a slain East Peoria man last night.
A candle light vigil was held for Justin Siebenthal, 21, outside his home in the 200 block of Elm Street.
The 21-year-old was shot to death Wednesday morning. His family did not attend.
But friends and those close to Justin made more than 300 candles and played his favorite music.
They say he was a nice guy who loved to help others. And this was not the way for him to go.
"All the people here, everybody loved him. Jay had no enemies, none. What happened is tragedy. You know it never should have happened to that man. Last person it should have happened to," said his friend Shawn Potter.
Police are searching for the shooter. Another man who was with Siebenthal was shot. Police are not releasing his name. He is still recovering in the hospital.
