TREMONT- Right down the road from the Tremont Turkey Festival, volunteers used the festival to take action for people in need.

The Tremont Food Pantry held its annual "Pack the Truck" event. For the first time, it was held in the parking lot at Tremont High School.

People could drop off anything from canned goods to diapers. The pantry says it's getting more requests for help than ever.

That's why it picked the festival to try and get donations.

"Being here with the turkey express, people can just drop off their food and grab their sandwich and go. So we even had one guy that stopped the line of cars, so he could run and give a check to us. So we're really pleased," said Becky Sauder, Tremont Food Pantry board member.

The food drive ran all weekend. But it still needs help.

If you'd like to give, donations can be dropped off to the Tremont United Methodist Church.
