WMBD/WYZZ-TV STAFF - TREMONT, IL - If Amelia Glueck had her pick, everyday would be sunny enough to run out on the track. After a banner year, she's quick to give all the credit to anyone but herself.

"I accomplished a lot. Great team behind me. Great coach. I couldn't have done it without them," said Amelia Glueck, Tremont Junior. "Ton of fun."

Glueck won the 1A long jump, vaulting over 17 feet 8 inches, beating the field of upperclassmen.

"Still wanted to come out and jump my hardest, have fun with all the girls, do my best. That's all I really wanted," said Glueck.

"That is something that she will always remember. I'll remember it. I've had three state champions in my career. Pretty special moment," said Mike Herrin, Tremont Head Track Coach.

Glueck won gold at long jump this past season, but don't just call her a long jumper. It's one of the several events she excels at.

"She has a great desire. Wants to get better and wants to learn. We come to practices
and she has to work on starts, hurdles, sprints and long jump," said Herrin.

Four events and in the future and maybe more.

"Always something to do and it's never the same thing. I can always switch it up. It's fun, being able to try something new and see how I come out and how I do," said Glueck.

"With her work ethic, quite often she'll come out on top.
