Tremont Baseball, Softball Fall Short of State

WMBD/WYZZ-TV - CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Tremont's dream of sending a baseball and softball team to state ended Monday.
The baseball team, which finished fourth at state in Class 1A baseball last year, scored five times in the first two innings was beaten by Tuscola, 10-6 in the super-sectional in Champaign.
Meanwhile, Torey Sorenson's two-run homer in the fifth inning led Williamsville to a 4-3 win over Tremont in the Class 2A softball super-sectiona at Athens. The Lady Turks were trying to advance to state for the first time since 1976.
