PEORIA-The River City will soon see more video gambling machines popping up around town.

The state legalized video gambling machines for licensed establishments two years ago and recently began issuing licenses.

But there's a problem that stands in the way of Peoria businesses.

The state is denying licenses because of a 20-year-old city ordinance.

The state says the ordinance bans video gambling.  However the city says otherwise.

Tonight council approved amending the ordinance, and made it clear that video gaming is legal.

Peoria's city manager thinks the ordinance will generate hundreds of thousand dollars each year.
