The "Save West Campus" group says it is optimistic the building will be saved.
The demolition company, DEG, and the group have been trying to figure out reasonable payment options for the building. Josh Hafliger, the project manager, says nothing is concrete and saving the building isn't final.
The biggest hurdle for West Campus supporters has been money. But one group leader says at least two people have offered to make significant donations.
Last month, the group proposed the city of Pekin loan money for the cause. But the city hasn't heard anything since then.
