What was once kept secret locked up inside a diary is now being shared with millions of anonymous users online. Young teens and tweens are posting videos to sites like YouTube and asking strangers to answer the question: "Am I ugly?"
A quick search of the site finds more than 37,000 posts, some serious from earnest young faces, others mocking the original posters for their naivety.
We asked local teens to weigh in on the trend. We also spoke with a professional counselor about the long term affects these videos can have on these young girls.
And we tracked down a woman in Portland, Maine who saw the videos and took action to combat their message with one of her own: "You Are Beautiful."
