PEORIA - Afni will close its Peoria location, leaving about 300 workers jobless.
The company made the announcement Thursday. The call center says it's closing its Peoria location because of inbound call reductions from its clients.
"Closing our Peoria operations was a decision that was made after much contemplation and consideration for the employees that work here," said Afni spokesperson Lori Boyce. "As an outsourcer, we must remain flexible in meeting our client demands. Unfortunately, from time to time, we are faced with a reduction in force."
Afni says it's working with local companies to try and find work for displaced employees.
