IWU Sends Two Teams to NCAA's

WMBD/WYZZ-TV - BLOOMINGTON - Illinois Wesleyan sent two teams to national tournaments Monday. The mens golf team earned its first ever trip to the NCAA Tournament while the softball team earned its seventh trip to nationals. The golf team, which finished second in last weekends College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships, snagged a bid to the Division III NCAA regional in Carmel, Indiana next week. The four-day, 72-hole championship is hosted by Anderson University, May 15-18. The Titans softball team earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Regional hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. IWU (31-12) will meet St. Norbert (20-12) in Thursdays tournament opener. Augustana, Chicago, Coe, Wisconsin-Oshkosh and host UW-Eau Claire are also in the regional.
