Bradley AD to Chair Soccer Committee

Bradley Athletic Director Ken Kavanagh was selected to chair the 2007 NCAA Division 1 Mens Soccer Committee Friday. Hell oversee the selection of the 48-team field which will make up the mens soccer tournament this fall. Kavanagh, 46, has served on the 10-person NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Committee since 2004 and he will complete his four-year term next September. He was a founding member of the I-AAA Athletic Director’s Association and currently serves as the treasurer of the organization, which represents the 93 non-football-playing NCAA Division I member institutions. He previously chaired the Missouri Valley Conference Championship Committee. Kavanagh, in his 12th year as Director of Athletics at Bradley, is a member of the MVCs Sportsmanship Committee and chairs the MVC Officiating Committee. The 2007 NCAA soccer championships, known as the College Cup, will be hosted by North Carolina State, December 14-16.
