WMBD/WYZZ-TV - NORMAL, Illl. -- College basketball practice starts Friday across the country.
Tim Jankovich has eight newcomers on his Illinois State roster. Which means he's looking forward to the first day of practice for at least one reason.
"If you come to watch, I wouldn't sit in the first three rows. I would think balls will be flying around a little bit," joked Jankovich, who begins his fourth season as Redbirds' head coach. "There's going to be a lot of mistakes, probably guys going a little too fast and trying to do a little too hard. But I like that."
ISU was 22-11 last season and earned its third straight NIT berth.
