WMBD/WYZZ-TV - CHICAGO, -- Robert Whitenack will always remember his first trip to Wrigley Field.
Whitenack (7-6) pitched five strong innings and led the Chiefs to a 5-2 win over Kane County in a Midwest League game at Wrigley Field Wednesday night. Whitenack, a rookie right-hander from New York, allowed two runs in five innings to collect the win.
Jae-Hoon Ha belted a three-run homer for the Chiefs, who snapped a four-game losing streak. The two teams played at the home of the Chicago Cubs as part of the "Road to Wrigley" game featuring minor league teams.
It was the second time in three years the Chiefs beat Kane County at Wrigley. Peoria also won a 9-8 decision over the Cougars on July 29, 2008 in the first minor league game played at the historic Major League ballpark.
