Peoria Police Officer Invovled Shooting

A man is in critical condition after being shot by a Peoria police officer. Authorities responded around 1:00 AM Monday morning to the 900 block of Greenlawn Street. There, they found a man struggling with a woman. Authorities say the man fled on foot when police arrived, he was pursued by an officer.
During the chase, police say the man pointed a gun at the officer, who then fired a single shot into the man's stomach.
The suspect was taken to O-S-F Saint Francis Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.
