WMBD/WYZZ TV - PEORIA -- First and second graders at Peoria Christian are brewing mad science experiments.
Instead of normal everyday lessons, students are spending the day learning all about science. Parents and teachers transformed six classrooms into six science-filled stations. Each station teaches students various aspects of science such as motion, tools, recycling and even rocket science.
Second grader teacher, Sandy Wiele, says, "It is all hands on and the kids are so excited to be able to reach right in and grab something and do it themselves. It makes them want to be scientists right now."
This is the third year Peoria Christian has incorporated science day into their curriculum.
