A bill which could provide more state funding to Peoria District 150 was approved Wednesday by the Illinois Senate Education Committee and moved to the Illinois Senate floor. The bill has already passed the Illinois House. The bill, sponsored by Peoria Representative Jehan Gordon could mean almost 200 thousand dollars at a time when the district is facing a multi million dollar deficit next school year. The legislation would update part of a complicated general state aid formula used to determine how much state funding goes to each school district.
