WMBD/WYZZ TV – PEORIA -- The coroner, fire trucks, and the police respond to a local high school, not for a real accident, but a simulated one. The goal was to show students at Farmington High School what the consequences of driving drunk are. Fire departments, and Illinois State Police all participated, and even used the jaws of life to pull students from a car.

The actors are students at Farmington High. They hope they can stop their classmates from making bad choices this prom season. Students we spoke with got the message. The Red Cross has a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation to put on the program. They say it's so effective, that schools who have the program don't end up having drunk driving accidents.
