WMBD/WYZZ – PEORIA – A fire on Peoria’s south side causes $60,000 in damages Wednesday night. Peoria firefighters say the blaze burned for an extended period of time before it was found.
Fire crews arrived on scene in the 2300 block of West Marquette Street just before midnight. They found the living room engulfed in flames. That fire was quickly extinguished, but the building suffered heavy heat and smoke damage.
The Red Cross was called in to provide temporary lodging for three adults and three children.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
