Trial Begins For Man Accused of Killing Infant

WMBD/WYZZ – PEORIA -- The trial of a Peoria man charged with the murder of his infant son begins Monday.
24-year-old James Sargent will be tried by a judge for the death of his five-month-old son last year. Sargent and the child's mother, Tracy Herman are accused of starving the child to death. Prosecutors say the infant had not been moved or fed in eight days.
Both parents have pleaded not guilty.
